Britta Ambauen jewelry is delicate and feminine, hand crafted from sterling silver, 14k gold fill and gemstones.  Each design is create with a message or concept in mind to inspire the wearer.  Drawing on her background in printmaking, she uses etching techniques to incise images and words on the surface of silver pendants, creating meaningful, wearable works of art.

Let me introduce you to Brenda Meyers, the founder and owner of a fabulous boutique in Denver, Colorado: REJUVANEST

REJUVANEST is Colorado’s “local version” of the bed, bath and home section at Anthropologie but better. It is gorgeous! Brenda has an exquisite eye and her attention to detail makes for a fabulous boutique. You will find one-of-a-kind gifts from luxurious robs to candles to jewelry to perfume to lingerie.

When and why did you start your business?

When girls were playing with their Barbie’s I was making their clothes and building their homes.  I made my own wall paper even.  I have always been fascinated with home, maybe because my mother always made our house a home on a shoestring.  When I’m in Paris, for example, I am obsessed with the people and their homes, more than anything else. I wonder what they are doing, what their space feels like, even what they are eating.  So, finally, when I had enough courage and resources, which was April 2007, it was time to bring beautiful and functional objects to women and let them delight in making their house, a warm and wonderful home.

Describe your store. What makes it unique?

Rejuvanest is a women’s home lifestyle boutique specializing in apparel for the home, bath and body, home fragrances and décor. I don’t know that anything like it exists.  It’s a haven for scrumptious lingerie, or comfy pjs and the fragrances are intoxicating.  Nosh Nest is for the kitchen, dining and, of course the appetite. Nosh offers artful food from Denver, domestic and imported specialty items from Italy and France – lots of fun linens and décor too.

What is your most popular product?

Our customers most enjoy our lingerie and our perfumes and hand crème – they just go together – maybe I should bring some truffles into Rejuvanest- some heavenly bon bons!  At Nosh Nest the most selected items are our Italian artisan pastas and our décor – whether that is a specialty lighting piece or a table candelabra.

What is part of your job that you love the most?

Most people might presume it is buying for the shoppes, but that is exhausting.  I enjoy receiving the items I have chosen and bringing them to life in the shoppes and how happy the customers are when they find them!

Where did you grow up and how did you end up in Colorado?

I grew up in California and was living in Santa Barbara.  I yearned for my own boutique, but if you know Santa Barbara, you know you cannot quit your day job to start a business.  My husband and I, kids are grown and away, made a decision to move and made a list and checked out various cities, such as Santa Fe, but it seemed too much like Santa Barbara.  With over 300 days of sunshine and all four seasons, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Denver was an easy choice.   We love our lovely Historic Highlands Victorian and being so close to down town too.

When you are not working, what do you like to do for fun?

If not at one of the shoppes I am either in the bath tub, in the garden or cooking something yummy.  We also love to travel, our most recent jaunt being the Mediterranean. Cuddling with my sweeties, hubby and pups, isn’t so bad either.
